Free, no signup. Checks one page.

What this tool checks

  • JSON-LD, Microdata and RDFa structured data
  • The schema.org types found, including nested @graph items
  • JSON-LD blocks that fail to parse
  • Basic types most sites should have, such as Organization or WebSite
  • Breadcrumb navigation without BreadcrumbList markup

What structured data does

Structured data describes a page in a format machines can read: this is a product with this price, this is an article by this author, this is the organization behind the site. Search engines use it for rich results, and AI assistants use it to understand and quote pages.

JSON-LD is the format Google recommends because it sits in one script tag, separate from your HTML. This checker finds which types are present; use Google's Rich Results Test to confirm a page is eligible for a specific rich result.

Frequently asked questions

Which schema markup should every site have?

Organization (or LocalBusiness) on the homepage, WebSite, and BreadcrumbList on inner pages. Then add types that match each page: Article, Product, FAQPage, HowTo, Event and so on.

JSON-LD, Microdata or RDFa?

JSON-LD. Google supports all three, but JSON-LD is easier to add and maintain because it doesn't have to be woven into your HTML.

Does schema markup improve rankings?

Not directly. It makes pages eligible for rich results, which can raise click-through rate, and it helps search engines and AI assistants understand your content.
